Want to Choose the Best Feeding Method For Your Dog? Here is How

Feeding your pet is a fundamental aspect of the relationship between a pet owner and their pet. As a key to an animal’s survival, the way they feed pretty much determines their levels of; happiness, health and the entire state of wellness.

Choosing the most appropriate feeding method for your dog may, however, prove to be troublesome given the different challenging factors such as your personal schedule as a pet owner or your dog’s feeding preferences.

Different dogs have different feeding patterns, and their preferential differences usually based on breed, age or initial dog training. The following are the available tips on how to choose the best feeding method for a dog, to help you figure out how best to feed your dog while considering the challenges in your lifestyle as a pet owner.

Free Feeding Method

Are you a dog owner with a busy schedule, and are not always at home? Well, then this is the perfect pet feeding solution in this challenge of your lifestyle. The free feeding method entails, filling your dog’s food bowl, which allows it to feed whenever it feels hungry. This way your dog can feed when you are not around, and you can refill the dish when you get back.

However, this method has challenges of its own. For one, this method limits your dog’s food to only dry food. That is because wet food has the risk of going bad which is a health hazard to your pet just to say the least.

A side bowl filled with plenty of water is a proper recommendation. Another issue is the risk of obesity since some animals have the tendency of eating beyond their full capacity. Also, if you have more than one dog, then this is not the recommendable method for you.

Dogs have a dominating tendency over fellow dogs and having two alone in the house without any supervision; the likely result is the more aggressive one bullying the other one especially over meals.

Scheduled Feeding Method

Now, this is a preferable method if you have a predictable schedule which you abide by well enough to make it home by your dog’s meal time. So, just like the name suggests this method entails feeding your dog at regular and predictable intervals just like breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Normally under this approach, the number of meals are three to four a day, standard to avoid either extended periods of hunger or over feeding.

Scheduled feeding method is considered to be a healthier way for your pet since it enables you to control the amount of food your dog eats per meal. That makes it a control method for overeating and ultimate obesity.

Scheduled feeding is applicable in two different versions: One, you can choose to control the time by putting an excess amount of food in the dog’s bowl for ten to twenty minutes which is usually enough for it to feed, then you take away the remaining food. Secondly, you can just put a specific amount of food every time you feed the dog. The recurrence of this feeding method may, however, prove to be tiresome.

The scheduled feeding method is also highly recommended for dogs under prescription drugs. That is because it enables the mixing of the medication to the food at the prescribed intervals, as well as lessening the struggle of giving the medication separately.

Meal Feeding Method

Now, this method is somewhat similar to the scheduled feeding method with the little distinction that the meal feeding method is done specifically when you the pet owner have your meals as well. That makes the number of meals range from two to three. Yes, I can be two; which is during breakfast and dinner. Apart from the other advantages of this method which have mentioned above in the scheduled feeding category, this approach also controls the habit of begging at the dining table which as a pet owner you may have experienced.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it is important to take all considerations in choosing the most appropriate feeding method for your dog. And by all considerations what it is not just the aspect of your convenience but also your dog’s health, age and even breed among other things. If you find it hard to pick one, then it is advisable to visit a veterinarian for guidance.

At some point, you might even have to consider shifting methods with transformations such as age. In the end, whatever tips on how to choose the best feeding method for a dog you pick, do not forget to serve clean water with it at all times.

What You Need To Know About Your Pit Bull Puppy

The first 12 weeks of life are the most important for the development of your Pit bull puppy.

I know that your puppy is cute and your bound to think that everything he does is funny and entertaining, but it is important to understand that you have a very short window of opportunity to train your dog, give him the best food and properly socialize him before that cute little puppy becomes Dogzilla, and begins to destroy your home, and cause you much frustration.

Start training your puppy right away. In these first 4-6 weeks don’t let strangers scare your Pit bull puppy. If your pup becomes fearful of strangers you will have a hard time socializing him and he may grow up not trusting strangers. Do not nurture any fearful or anxious behavior. For example if your pup gets scared and runs behind you do not reward this behavior by petting the pup and telling him everything is all right. This will reward your pup for being scared and he will learn that fearful and anxious behavior is ok. Give praise and treats when he is doing what you want, ie, sit, stay, come, down. Ignore and walk away from, fearfulness, jumping, barking, ect. Your pup will hate having you walk away and turn your back, he will do anything for your attention.

Your new pup will almost certainly have a few nights where he is getting used to the idea that he no longer has his Mother and litter mates to make him feel secure. You will no doubt have to put up with a few nights of crying, and whining, after all he is only a baby. Have patience and don’t go to your pup when he is in this state of mind, this will only reward him and make this a nightly thing for a long time. This sleep-robbing behavior usually stops after a few days. Make sure your pup is in a crate for the first two weeks while you are house breaking him. This will prevent him from peeing and pooping on the floor in the night.

Your Pit bull puppy will start to do those cute things that a lot of people find entertaining to watch. Like tugging on your pant’s leg, or jumping up on your legs when you walk or move around. Don’t allow this to continue, you must disagree with this by ignoring the pup, and train him to sit when he comes to you. Having the sit as your default command will ensure your dog’s good behavior. There are a lot of things your dog can’t do when sitting.

Make training fun for you fuzzy faced little friend by playing games and rewarding your dog for good behavior, not just during training but throughout the day. If you look over and your pup is lying down chewing on his stuffed toy, go to him and praise him, give him a treat and tell him what a good boy he is being. Most people don’t notice the good behavior that their dogs display and only get interested in what they are doing when the behavior is unwanted. Even the most problem dog’s are good 95% of the time. So reward the good behavior when ever you see your dog doing what you like.

You will want to teach your pup what they can chew on. Puppies need to chew on something and if you don’t provide a chew toy for them they will find things for themselves, ie, your cell phone, remote control, your favorite shoes, or the leg on the coffee table. Use your dog’s chew toy as a play reward, tug, or fetch, this will make your pup love chewing on the toy, and not your other stuff.

Loud and sudden noises can send your pup into a tail spin of fear. It is important to socialize your pup to loud and sudden noises. Start small, like drop a can of beans on the floor, then when your pup is used to this sudden sound, make it louder and more startling, ie, turn the stereo on with the volume setting up high, not so high as to hurt the dogs sensitive ears, but you get the idea, you may want to take your pup to the fair, and you don’t want him running away at the first crack of fireworks.

To ensure your pup will grow up liking strange people and children, you should have many strangers play with, feed, and train your Pit bull Puppy. You could have puppy parties where you invite a lot of people and children to come and bring their dog’s so you can teach your pup that when there are people and dog’s around everything is fun and he gets a lot of treats from people he don’t know.

When training your pup you will want to have a lot of patience. A pup have a very limited attention span, and it is important to be consistent with your methods of training. For example if you are training your pup to sit, and you tell him to sit, and he turns and runs to another room of the house, you got to stay with it until your pup is sitting. If you let your pup get away with not obeying you he will learn that all he has to do to stop training is to walk away.

Keep training sessions short. Five minutes are plenty to begin with. Make sure you have reward treats at the ready, and teach the entire family the same commands that you use or your pup will only get confused. Practice everyday.

Pit bulls have gotten a bad reputation for aggression, but when you take the time to train and properly socialize this breed, they are gentle, loving and make a wonderful family pet. They are guard dog’s by nature and you will need to have control over them at all times. If you are considering getting a Pit bull puppy then do your research and make sure you understand what to do to provide a balanced and healthy lifestyle for you and your Pit bull puppy.

Shape Our Children’s Futures By Teaching Respect Towards Animals. Guest post by Jenny Holt

With an estimated 86.4 million cats and 78.2 million dogs in households across the United States, and 9.8 million cats and 6.7 million dogs owned in the United Kingdom, it’s safe to say animals play an important role in the lives of many.

The way we respect animals shapes the way we treat not only ourselves but others. It’s not uncommon for young children to pull a cat’s tail or tug at a dog’s fur out of mischief but it’s up to us, as adults, to teach the surrounding young to respect animals. Animals have feelings and deserve respect, but they make us people better.  So how can you teach your children to respect animals?

1. Set A Good Example
Children are like sponges – they absorb everything they see and hear around them. They’re influenced by everything, even things you think they’re not paying attention to. Setting a good example is extremely important. If you respect animals, they’ll respect animals. Not shouting ‘stupid cat’ at the stray that runs in front of your car could make a huge difference in how your child grows up treating other felines. It is as simple as that.

2. Get A Pet
Whether it be a goldfish or a dog, children are forced to learn how to look after themselves and others quicker if they have a pet. Having to feed, clean and run around after their pets teaches them responsibility. It means that they grow up to become more considerate to others, self-sufficient and they are more likely to become law-abiding and valued citizens. Pets are also great companions so your child will become more sociable too.

3. Be Merciful
If you have a mouse in the house, don’t use inhumane traps such as glue traps. The glue is extremely painful for the mouse stuck on it and the trap itself doesn’t kill the mouse which means it can be alive for days, suffering. Try getting something like a Trip-Trap Mouse Trap which has enough ventilation for the mouse to survive until you realise it’s in there and can let it out in a field.

4. Observe Animals in Their Natural Habitat
Immerse yourself in the great outdoors by visiting parks, hiking and spending time in nature which can make a big difference. It helps your child develop a connection with the natural world and seeing animals that aren’t in captivity helps them to understand their place in the circle of life. Even watching ants go about their business in the back garden will help your child learn how to respect other living things.

5. Visit Farms, Zoos, and Shelters
More and more often, farms, zoos and animal shelters are letting in children so they can learn more about all kinds of animals, from dogs to horses to penguins. In fact, some zoos have created week-long courses that give applicants the chance to gain practical experience in zoology and animal handling. But if you can’t do any of that, then listening to the talks and watching the animals as they go about their lives can have a huge impact on the way children see and react towards animals. Shelters often have information about where each of their animals came from before they were brought into the shelter, so children can also see the repercussions of negative actions towards animals.

In her research on the link between animal cruelty and children, Gail F. Melson, a professor of child development and family studies at Purdue University, found that 70% of violent prisoners (she lists Jeffrey Dahmer, the Boston strangler Alberto DeSalvo and the Son of Sam David Berkowitz as examples) had histories of serious and repeated animal abuse in their childhood. Even Professor Frank Ascione at the University of Denver, who assessed 1,433 children between the ages of 6 and 12, discovered that the 60% who had been exposed to violence abused animals. Perhaps teaching children from an early age that animals deserve the same amount of kindness we wish ourselves to be treated with will give them more respect for human life too.

3 Love Lessons From Your Animals by Val Heart

Have you ever experienced being loved unconditionally?

Without reserve or embarrassment, from someone who doesn’t care about your weight, whether you have makeup on, if you’re having a bad hair day, or have issues, woundings or baggage?  They don’t worry about whether you had a bad day at the office, had a argument with someone, or are Love Lessonshurting?

In our society, as we grow up, we received many subtle and not so subtle messages about being bad, how we get the wrong answer sometimes, and we suffer many painful and embarrassing experiences all of which make us feel we’re unworthy of being loved.  In self-defense, we learn to hide our hearts so we can fit in and conform so we can try to feel loved.

This is a very hurtful pattern that often continues throughout our lives. Until we learn to face our demons and can make new decisions about our worth, value and ability to be loved. It can be hard to find a safe, non-threatening place to really feel love and let that in to help heal our hearts.

Fortunately for animal lovers, our animals are here to teach us about how it feels to be loved unconditionally. They demonstrate day after day what it means to care about someone without fear of rejection, to be in relationship with others without judgment, how it really feels to be embraced and loved with a whole heart, and offer the experience of being welcomed exactly as we are.

They demonstrate day after day what it means to care about someone without fear of rejection, to be in relationship with others without judgment, how it really feels to be embraced and loved with a whole heart, and offer the experience of being welcomed exactly as we are.

Who better to teach us about unconditional love than a puppy, kitten, or horse?

I was recently speaking with an environmental engineer, a scientist and researcher dedicated to helping corporations reduce and eliminate their toxic emissions so they leave a smaller footprint on the planet.  This handsome, grey haired gentleman was used to being logical, scientific, and didn’t show or share his emotions easily.

But he started telling me about his dog, how she greeted him with exuberant joy every time he came home.  He commented that his wife and children had never welcomed him like she did. And he had tears in his eyes as he reconnected with how it felt to be greeted with such love, acceptance, and a wide open joyful heart after a hard day at work.  It lifted his cares and troubles, and helped him feel whole again.

Our wonderful animal teachers and companions are in many ways our best friends, our partners, and are the ones who know us better than anyone else.  They often choose to spend their lives with us helping us heal, loving us when we’re sick or sad…  Helping us in every way they can, they share our life experiences, and continually demonstrate what unconditional love really means.

Animals contribute to each of us and our planet in so many ways.

The wild ones keep the circle of life strong, each one contributing in their way to everyone else.  The native people knew that in order to stay healthy personally, and within their community, they must stay connected with the animals, treating them with respect and honor, listening and learning from them on many levels.

  1. Take a little time out each and every day to listen to and respect your animal teachers. Pay attention to what they are telling you.
  1. If they are ‘out of balance’, acting out in harmful or destructive ways, then notice where in your own life you may be out of balance or are incongruent within yourself.
  1. If they are offering their unique viewpoints, sharing love or joy or simply being themselves, then flow with them with gratitude and honesty. Open your heart and let their love and light shine into all the dark corners of your soul and spirit, body and mind.

This is the gift that our animals give us every day if we let them, if we take time to connect with our hearts, feel our gratitude and appreciation that they are in our lives.

We rediscover our connection with the planet and our own Divine nature when we reconnect with other beings – and doing that makes us better humans.

Every Animal Lover Needs to Know How to Talk to Animals by Val Heart

Animals are angels, teachers, guides and healers.  When we learn how to talk to animals, we discover how to recognize, respect and revere them for who they really are.  The profound process is a spiritual journey because learning how to talk to animals helps humans become better people. It’s an extraordinary, life changing experience because animals have a lot to say.  For instance, consider this incredibly true story of how I talked to a komodo dragon, and how that changed my life.

Every month, my Animal Talk Coaching Club students (graduates of the How to Talk to Animals Beginning Core Foundations course as well as Advanced Animal Talk Mastery course), gather to practice talking with animals so they can improve their intuitive skills and confidence.

That sunny day in June, we went on a fieldtrip to the San Antonio Zoo.  The student’s assignment was to wander through the zoo, find and talk to animals who were willing to talk to them.  What were their stories?  Where did they come from?  How did they get where they are now?  Tell us about their family life, their experience living in a zoo?  We were humbled to discover so very many wonderful wise ones (defined as master teachers, gurus, healers, guides and angels disguised as animals), all there waiting for us to talk at the zoo.

Some students felt confident that they could be of service to the animals by simply taking the time to connect and communicate.  They’ve learned that often deep healing, growth and evolvement comes from the simple act of attentive listening, acknowledging and respecting other’s experiences, insights and truth.  Eagerly they set off on their mission.

But other highly sensitive animal talk students lingered, worrying about talking to these zoo animals, fearing they would hear stories of abuse, trauma, loneliness, depression, sadness and anger.  In tears, they asked for my advice about how to handle the painful emotional stories they were convinced they would hear.  I told them to not be afraid.  Instead, choose to be courageous and fully present, to listen carefully with their heart to what the animal had to say.  Then, be sure to ask the right questions in the right way and in the right time so the animal felt safe and understood.  Feel what will be expressed and allow their emotions and reactions to surface.  Take time to honor that.  Finally, offer compassion, acknowledgment, and appreciation for being able to hear the animal’s voices.

In this way, they would serve the animals by letting them know that a human truly cared about what happened to them.  Many times healing occurs just through the art of listening and heartfelt conversation.  Nothing more is needed.  Bravely we all stepped forward, following our hearts and intuitive guidance to take us where we were needed most. The cacophony of sights, sounds and smells bombarded me as I tuned in and asked for guidance.

Of all the wonderful animals there, I immediately felt myself being drawn toward the komodo dragons.  Fascinated I tuned in and connected.  The dragon on the right had no use for humans or the crowd outside the enclosure, and was clearly not interested in talking to me.  However, as I focused on the second of the two komodo dragons, I felt our heart connection quicken and deepen.  Astonished and pleased, I realized that this huge lizard in his powerful, ponderous yet deceptively fast body was a “Wise One.”

Delighted that I had noticed him, he turned to look straight at me standing some distance away across the enclosure behind the glass retainer wall.  I had no idea how this conversation would go or how profound the opportunity being presented to me was, but I felt thrilled to commune with him.  Was he interested in sharing his experiences, or dispensing advice or enlightenment for a human woman?

After we greeted each other properly, I told him who I was and what I was doing there.  Tears sprang to my eyes as his compassion, spirit and big heart touched me deeply.

He asked, “What do you need child?  How may I help you today?”

I’d been divorced recently.  After living with my husband of almost 18 years, I found myself struggling with issues around personal safety.  I was feeling trapped by an intense fear of being alone at home with no one to protect me.  I felt restless, anxious, depressed and skittish, jumping at every little noise.  Taking what seemed at the time like appropriate measures to protect myself, I had fearfully withdrawn into my shell.  I was miserable and unhappy, and didn’t know how to recover my mojo again.  So I decided to ask for his advice.

He immediately informed me that I was experiencing such fear because I was identifying myself as a prey animal and had taken on the mindset of the hunted, not the hunter.  He told me that I must identify myself with predator energy and take my power and self-respect back.  Predators respect other predators and usually give space and back off.  I must choose to defend myself on all levels, to set proper boundaries. It may not be necessary to actually fight, but it is my right and responsibility to respect myself and my space.

Holding my eye, he then began walking deliberately, confidently, proudly around his enclosure saying,

“See me.  Walk this way, choose your path consciously, deliberately, with focused intent and purpose.  Use clear sight, stay grounded, and move with confidence.  Own the space around you.  In doing so, you will achieve whatever you need or desire.”

His message had the impact of a sonic boom on my Spirit!  He was exactly right.  His message was so surprising, I had never considered things from that perspective before.  But now?  I realized that by embracing and embodying my fear, I had been energetically attracting negative unwanted dangerous attention.  And a fundamental Universal Truth is that what we focus on expands.  What we fear, if we let it run our lives, will often come to pass because we draw it to us.

With relief, my shoulders straightened as I smiled with joy, and I grew tall, standing proud in my own skin.  I was no longer afraid of my own shadow.  I realized that I am a strong, powerful, confident woman, a leader in my field.  From that moment on, my life changed for the better.  I’ll always remember and be grateful for the komodo dragon’s words of wisdom.

When we know how to talk to animals, we discover that some of the best teaching and advice we’ll ever receive will come from the animals we’ve known, worked with and loved.

They all have something wonderful to teach us.  Learning how to talk to animals is about sharing information energetically and telepathically.  The ability to share life experiences with other beings, no matter what body they are wearing, is a priceless gift and opportunity.  Through the process of connection and communication, it allows us to better understand and KNOW that we are not alone.  We are connected with other sentient intelligent beings.  And, that we can help each other.

Animals of all kinds and species, from the littlest to the biggest, have a lot to say when we know how to talk to them.  Like us, they want to be heard on all levels of their life.  Knowing what animals think, feel and experience can change everything in the way you take care of your pet, and is THE foundation for a great relationship!

My complete Heart School of Animal Communication system illustrates why learning how to talk to animals is such a personal, spiritual journey.  When you know how to talk to animals, they partner up with you so you can solve problems together and enrich each other’s lives by sharing insights, inspiration and deepen your bonding.

5 Simple Steps to Developing Your Intuition by Learning to Listen to Your Gut

A client asked: “I’ve been a Christian for all my life, but recently realized that my beliefs are changing about the divinity of the universe, earth energies, reincarnation, Wicca, and other beliefs and philosophies.  But I’m confused about what the real Truth is because there are so many opinions out there.  I don’t want opinions.  I want knowledge because I want to get the most out of what life I have left in this life time.  How do you fit all of this together and know what the Truth actually is?”

Answer:  In the words of Obi Wan Kenobi (Jedi master), “Truth is Relative.”  What is true for one person at one period in their life may in fact change over time, as they explore and come to know a deeper Absolute Truth and as they evolve.  And what is true for one person may not be true for another.

Spiritual seekers must sort through a lot of information, experience, and beliefs in order to discover what is True. I believe this process continues throughout our whole life, and that we are called to discover Truths similar to a lifelong treasure hunt.  The joy is in the journey of discovery of these Truths, and we call that life.

You want to know the Truth?  Be sure you’re willing to handle the Truth when it comes.  Because when the student is ready, the teacher appears. And the answers are not always easy, nor do they conform to what we thought we knew, what we were expecting, nor do they conform to what we’ve been taught or what we had accepted before or told was true.

Animals have a wisdom all their own that often surpasses human intelligence.  I call these amazing beings angels, teachers and Wise Ones disguised as animals.  Often they know what is true and what is not so they can help guide you on your spiritual journey towards enlightenment, but only when you know how to access their wisdom, hear their thoughts and invite them to share their heart.

Key Truths can be found in every belief, philosophy, or teaching, and even from other species.

They come to us through experience, through seemingly chance encounters, through religious documents, through epiphany’s and breakthroughs of understanding.  They are to be found in movies, in stories, in myths and in books (fiction and non-fiction).

Teachers, gurus, ascended masters and our animals are here to help us connect with and understand Truth.  Our interactions with each other teach us about ourselves and who we truly are, and ultimately guide us to the Truth.

Truths are literally all around you all the time, but they must be tested to discover whether in fact they are only true to a point or in certain situations, or if they are Absolutely True all the way through to the heart of the matter.

No one has all the Truths.  But you do have a way to access and find them for yourself by seeking them diligently and with an open heart and mind, trusting your own intuitive ‘knowing’ and practice testing what you get.  When you learn to trust your own intuition, you will have an internal GPS system that can guide you through what is true, what is True-er, what is Absolute Truth, and what is simply untrue.

Fundamentally, the answers you seek are already inside you.  They dwell within what is called the God Mind, sometimes called the superconscious mind.  To access them, you need only develop your Intuitive Intelligence Quotient (IIQ).

Learning to decipher and discern the information you are given every day from the world around you requires a bit of training.  The more training you get the more confidence you will have in your ability to make sound decisions from your intuition, by listening to your gut.

What is intuition?  And what does listening to our ‘gut’ have to do with truth?

Dictionary.com’s definition of intuition is “A direct perception of the truth, fact, etc., independent of any reasoning process; immediate apprehension or comprehension.”

I believe that the innate gift of our intuition acts like a super computer that is always gathering information much faster than our conscious mind can on its own.  Think of it like this:  Information is energy, and energy can transfer at the speed of light.

Your superconscious and unconscious minds analyze and process more than 90% of all information energetically and almost instantaneously.  Contrast this to the fact that your conscious mind receives only 10% (at best) of the incoming sensory stimuli, and the processing speed of the conscious mind is extremely slow.

An apt analogy here would be to compare a super computer with the highest speed internet possible (your fully functioning innate Intuition) with a 1990’s edition personal computer with dial up (your conscious mind).

It is fascinating to realize that your conscious mind actually recognizes, reevaluates and reinterprets “life” after it has already happened based on prior conceptions, attitudes, expectations and beliefs.  And if the ego mind is given data that doesn’t conform or fit with what it thinks it already knows, then it will either discard it or rewrite it to fit prior expectations and conceptions. Tricky, eh?

That’s why it’s not such a good idea to base decisions on the conscious mind alone without consulting your innate intuitive intelligence as well.

Since your subconscious mind takes in millions of bits of information in mere nanoseconds, it processes this information and gives your conscious mind the filtered data.  If you don’t listen to your intuitive knowing, then you can’t make decisions from a quantum leap perspective.   It happens so quickly that you have a sense of simply “knowing” the right from the wrong, the positive from the negative, the True from the untrue.

For example, have you ever gone somewhere and immediately felt it wasn’t safe?  Your subconscious mind processed something that you didn’t see, hear, smell, touch or taste with your conscious mind, but recognized it as potentially dangerous and sent the signal in a way that your conscious mind could interpret correctly, if you’re paying attention.

Someone recently shared with me how they “feel” a knowingness in their body.  When something is wrong she gets a strong tingly feeling in her chest.  When she needs to make a decision about something she will quiet her mind and ask a question.  If the answer is yes she gets a strong feeling of calmness all over.  She has learned the art of discernment.

5 Simple Steps To Developing Your Intuition

  1. Center yourself and get quiet. Follow your breath, in and out, and relax more with every breath cycle.  To do this well, it is helpful to stand tall and balanced, but if you prefer to sit, that’s ok.  It just may be a little harder at first until you get the hang of it.  Close your eyes and feel the ground beneath your feet, the energies of the earth, and be fully present, right here, right now, nothing added.  Let everything else go.
  2. Connect with your heart (superconscious mind). Imagine that your heart has a direct connection with the Truth, and trust that this is so.
  3. Connect with your gut (unconscious mind). Did you know that your gut possesses neural cells and is in fact your first brain?  Neural cells originated in the gut first when your body was being formed in the womb, then a portion of these cells split off and began to form your spinal cord, then they formed your heart which is also lined with neural cells, then eventually became your head brain.
  4. Connect with the idea, concept, or object that you are curious about and ask your question. Then, invite your body to either Lean In (meaning:  yes I want more of that or I’m drawn to that, it’s okay to go there, it feels true) or Pulling Back (meaning:  no that’s not good for me or I don’t want that, don’t go there, something is wrong or untrue).
  1. Then, simply wait for your intuition (your gut) to signal you with its answer. Be patient.  Receiving your answer can take as long as a second or a minute or two, depending on your ability to be fully present and clear in your request, and how much practice you have.

Leaning in means there’s something there to learn or to know that will lead you to a truth.

Pulling Back means there’s something there that is repellant to your bodymind and intuitive knowing, an untruth, a lie or it’s simply not right for you at this time.

Standing in balance without leaning in or pushing away means your bodymind is neutral on the subject, it’s neither good or bad, positive or negative, true or untrue.  It can also mean you have asked a question that is unclear or the answer isn’t a simple yes, no or neutral.

Everyone has their own unique and innate way of accessing, analyzing and interpreting information.  Learning how to develop your intuition will significantly help you in learning to communicate with and understand animals and the world around you too.

This is why it’s so important to make a decision based on your intuition and not merely on your so called rational logical ego mind.  Your gut knows more than your mind does about what you really need, what is good for you, and what isn’t.

It is definitely worth the investment of time and resources to learn to develop your intuition.  It will help you make the best decisions for yourself, to access higher knowledge and extrasensory information, and can even help save your life.
