Talk to Animals and Watch the Amazing Results! How Animal Communication Saved the Lives of 49 Fawns

When you take the time to talk to animals and learn to truly listen and communicate, amazing things happen!

Just read this story about how my ability to talk to animals saved the lives of 49 little orphan fawns—but lost one very special little one.

Little Bobby’s story

Working on staff at Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation was an extraordinary experience. I got to be up close and personal with all kinds of wildlife—everything from deer, raccoons, and opossums to owls, panthers, and bears, oh my!

One evening I was heading down the path for fawn feeding time, one of my favorite jobs at the center. I was carrying four big buckets filled to the brim with nursing bottles full of creamy rich “mother’s milk”.

There were at least fifty orphaned fawns, some of them injured, in the large enclosure. Our job was to raise them until they were young adults, then release them safely into areas where they could rejoin existing wild deer herds and hopefully live long happy lives.

On this beautiful evening, as I entered the fawns’ pen, they eagerly ran up and crowded all around me as they always did. It always made my heart so glad to see and connect with these beautiful, innocent, playful creatures.

In my career as a professional animal communicator, I talk to animals all the time—everything from the usual cats and dogs and horses to the more exotic foxes and cougars and monkeys and elephants and so many more! I’d seen a lot by that point. If you can imagine fifty precious little fawns leaping and pushing each other and dancing with excitement to get closer to you!  It was a wonderful experience.

Many were leaping and bouncing above the crowd, trying to affectionately head-butt me like I was their momma. It was so sweet and delightful.

Laughing, I greeted them, patted their beautiful heads and necks, then shooed them away so I could set up their feeders and they could begin eating their dinner.

Do you have what it takes to talk to animals? Find out here.

Talk to animals to improve their health and well-being

I always used this special time with the fawns to inquire as to their health and well-being.

Sometimes they told me stories about their day, or the newest joke or funny story they’d come up with.

Sometimes they asked me questions or wanted to know what I thought about something that was troubling them. I was always amazed at what complex inner lives these precious creatures had—they weren’t just adorable, they were also intelligent, feeling, kind, and thoughtful.

But on this day, something different and unexpected happened, and it scared me.

Group of Fawns: Talk to Animals and Watch the Amazing Results!

Several of the fawns urgently spoke up saying, “Bobby isn’t feeling good! Can you help him please?”

I replied, “Oh no! Yes, of course, I’ll do everything I can to help him. What’s wrong?  Where is he?”

I looked around the enclosure as the light slowly faded to dusk, despairing of ever finding the one little fawn in the large crowd who wasn’t “feeling good”. Then, like the story of Moses parting the red sea, the crowd of fawns opened and one little fawn approached me.  It was Little Bobby.

The others nosed him as he walked by, in support and a show of caring.

It was so loving and sweet!

When he came up to greet me, I kneeled down and asked him to tell me how he was feeling. I asked him when he started feeling bad, how long he’d been feeling that way, and a myriad of questions to help me determine how best to help him feel better. (Once you’ve learned how to talk to animals in the Beginning Core Foundations Course, it’s time to learn the art of asking the right questions in the right time and way when communicating with animals in The Heart Of the Conversation 7 Step Blueprint for Successful Conversations With Animals Course)

He told me he had a headache, and his nose was snotty and runny. He was achy and had a tummy ache too. And sometimes he felt shivery.

Poor little guy, he was miserable.

I patted him and tried to comfort him, then told him I would go to tell Tim, the director. He would know just what to do.

Baby Fawn: Talk to Animals and Watch the Amazing Results!

Can I really talk to animals? Tim’s challenge

I found Tim in the work area and quickly told him the tale. Astonished, he looked at me for a moment with wide eyes—he wasn’t sure he believed I could really talk to animals, but my story was pretty amazing and compelling. And if I was reporting a sick animal, well, he had to look into it.

Challenging me, he asked me to take a can of purple spray dye to mark the ill fawn. I was to go put a mark on his coat so Tim could easily find him in the herd later.

I trudged back to the fawn pen and wondered how I would ever find Bobby again in the dark. The other fawns, as usual, crowded around me and were glad to see me.

I connected with my heart, centered myself, and called for Bobby to come to me, please.

Then I waited…

To my delight, in just a few minutes, here came little Bobby! Trustingly, he walked up and put his head in my hand.

I told him that we were working to find a way to help him feel better, but first, we needed to put a pretty purple mark on his beautiful coat so Tim could find him.

Patiently, Bobby agreed and waited silently while I sprayed the purple dye.

I told the other fawns that Bobby’s purple mark was very special.

Then I explained to Bobby that Tim would be out later to find him and figure out what to do to help him.

And so it was.

When my shift was over, I went home. It was my “weekend” so I got to take a couple of days off work. Every day until I went back to work I prayed for Bobby and communicated with him.

The next workday shift, I looked for him but didn’t find him with the other fawns. When I asked Tim, he said he’d easily found Bobby thanks to the purple mark I’d placed on his coat.

He’d never seen anything like Bobby’s illness in deer before, so he swabbed the inside of his nose and sent the swab to A&M University to be cultured. They were waiting for the results before deciding on a specific course of treatment.

In the meantime, little Bobby was taken to the ill and badly injured fawn pen. I saw him every day and comforted him as best I could, telling him what a brave boy he was.

But sadly, by the time we got the culture back and had a remedy in place, Bobby died.

I grieved his loss, and when I saw the fawns later I told them what had happened. They stood around me, completely silent and respectful. And so we grieved him together, all gathered in a big circle.

The good news was, thanks to the fawns’ willingness to ask me, a human, for help for one of their own, and thanks to Bobby’s courage to seek help and put his life in our hands… and thanks for my ability to talk to animals, he was the only fawn we lost.

The culture came back with a treatment plan and all the other fawns were treated and saved. The fawns, in their intelligence, had known they needed help when they told me what was going on. In talking to me, they had saved themselves.

Animal Healing: Helping An Aging Dog Express Her Needs

My work in animal healing and animal communication has brought so many rewarding experiences. Every time I have a chance to help an animal and their caretaker heal from trauma or identify and solve the problems they’re experiencing, not only am I helping them but we all learn so much from the experience as well.

Animal Healing: Taffy’s Story

In one of our monthly Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club Live Q&A Coaching calls, one of the students Stephanie* asked for some help with her senior golden lab Taffy. Taffy had been having issues with her vision and her mom was having trouble understanding how best to help her.

What helped? What hurt or made things worse? It’s hard to know without communicating directly with the animal.

Although Stephanie has had Taffy for a long time, she still finds some of Taffy’s body cues confusing. So she asked for help, saying:

“We recently started Taffy on eye drops for dry eyes. First, we tried a liquid drop, but Taffy would rub her eyes after the drops were applied. Please ask Taffy whether the drop was stinging her eyes?

Please ask Taffy: Do her eyes feel better with the new drops? How is her vision now? Has it gotten any better or worse over the last couple of months? What does she want me to know about her vision? Also, she is still limping a lot. How does her body feel? Thank you.”

I tuned into Taffy the way I teach in The Heart School of Animal Communication, and like I always do when conducting a session of animal healing, I started by expressing love for her and acknowledging her for being such a great dog. I thanked her for loving and taking such good care of her mom.

After waiting for the connection to feel strong and clear between us, I began the conversation, asking her:

“Taffy, what’s going on with your eyes? Your mom said you were rubbing your eyes when she put in the liquid drops. Why?”

Taffy said, “They made my eyes sting and burn, then they ached for a while after. I know mom was trying to help but I didn’t like it.”

I said, “Wow, that sucks. Did they help your eyes at all?”

Taffy said, “No, not that I can tell…”

I said, “Got it! Okay, so what happens when mom puts the gel stuff in there?”

Taffy said, “It feels better! And yes, it does help with the burning and itching. And Val? The area behind my eyes aches. It’s worse on the left side…I get a lot of headaches and I don’t like going out in the sun sometimes. I love my walks with mom, but it’s so bright, it makes my headaches worse.”

After listening to her, I replied, “I’m sorry to hear that Taffy. Thank you for sharing this with us. It’s very good information for us to have, so we can help you feel better. Now, can you help me understand your vision? How much can you see these days? Would you show me instead of telling me so I can understand better?”

In my mental monitor, Taffy took me deep inside her experience and showed me exactly what she can see. First, we looked together through her left eye, then her right.

Through this sharing of vision, I was able to see that Taffy’s vision was worse than her mom had suspected.

Her left eye could see mostly light, with some shadows and shapes of objects and colors. They weren’t very clear. And there was a dark area in the lower quadrant of her field of vision where she couldn’t see anything at all.

Her right eye could see even less. It was picking up light, with some shadows and shapes as well, but it looked like there was a hazy film across her field of vision.

Even with this revelation, Taffy was still good-natured. She said to me with a smile, “I might not see very well, but I can hear just fine!”

I smiled back and thanked her for her great sense of humor.

Animal Healing: Helping An Aging Dog Express Her Needs

Animal healing for physical and spiritual growth.

Then, I asked her if I could delve deeper and take a closer look at what’s going on inside the rest of her body using an intuitive medical scanning technique (taught in an Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club Masterclass)

She said yes, so I shifted to energy “MRI” mode (aka, modified medical intuitive energetic scanning in the H.E.A.R.T. System style most commonly used in my private healing work with clients).

After switching to energy scanning mode, I immediately noticed several problem areas in Taffy’s body. I found several areas of swelling and inflammation, as well as numb, colder areas which indicated decreased circulation.

There were also a number of hot areas in her back and hips, and a pain spot on her right hind leg in the stifle area.

As I gently investigated each problem area, I continued the conversation with Taffy, asking her how this felt, what kind of pain it was, and how long it had been going on.

I told her that we loved her and only wanted her to feel better, but she needed to help us understand how to do that. So I also asked her more specific questions to help us understand her experience to the very best of our ability:

“Did anything specific happen to cause this hurt? Did she need anything from us that would help her?”  “Are we were doing anything that is making her feel worse instead of better?”

As you can imagine, knowing the answers to these questions from heart to heart, mind to mind conversation with Taffy was fascinating and very useful.

When we finished, Taffy said she felt better after being able to talk about what was going on with her.

And now mom has new “straight out of the doggo’s mouth” information she can use to help her faithful friend enjoy her later years to the fullest.

Shortly after the Coaching Call ended, I got an email saying:

“Thanks so much, Val! I really appreciate that!! Oddly enough, we have a medical issue with my husband’s eye too. Believe it or not, it’s exactly what Taffy had with clogged eyelid glands with high inflammation which eventually led to her diagnosis of the golden retriever pigmentary uveitis and related cataract!) I was impressed with and appreciated how you were keeping everything moving today in an effort to get to all the other questions too! Again, I — and Taffy — thank you so very much!” Animal Healing: Helping An Aging Dog Express Her Needs

Who’s Your Spirit Animal? The Truth Might Surprise You

Do you know who your spirit animal is?

Even more important, do you have a personal relationship with your Spirit Animal? You should. They can help you in so many ways, as you’ll see. If you don’t yet, I highly recommend finding out. Because it might not be who you think!  And you may be missing their important messages and guidance too.

First, do you know what a Spirit Animal actually is?

A spirit animal is characterized as a teacher or messenger that comes in the form of an animal and has a personal relationship with an individual. Other names might be animal guides, spirit helpers, spirit allies, power animals, spirit totems, or animal helpers.

WHO is your Spirit Animal?

I’ve been taught that each of us has 9 main ones, and others come along when it’s important to get our attention.

In advanced Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club Platinum member Masterclasses I host in The Heart School of Animal Communication, students are guided to discover their spirit animals. The student’s discoveries were mind blowing, and the experience changed their lives for the better on so many levels.

My first experience with this was extraordinary.  During an unforgettable shamanic underworld journey while in an advanced workshop hosted by Penelope Smith, I was guided to find and bring back my partner’s spirit animal. Her’s was a wonderful, mischievous, creative and highly intelligent Monkey.

The monkey spirit animal is a powerful symbol of good luck. This is because it represents a playful and lighthearted version of yourself. The meaning of the monkey seeks to awaken your youthful and cheerful spirit, and the inner child in you.

Monkey rocked her world, literally and figuratively!  But that’s a story for another time.

An unlikely match…?  Meeting my spirit animal shocked me.

So who do you think my partner found for me? I would never have guessed this one.

I can tell you I was absolutely shocked when she returned from her journey and revealed my spirit animal to me.

I’d been imagining all sorts of wonderful animal spirit totems, like Bear, Wolf, Hawk, Horse… maybe the noble Mountain Lion, Eagle, or the nimble Rabbit!

I could barely wait to find out who my spirit animal was. But I never could have imagined the reality.

She said: “Your spirit animal… is a Snake”.

Who’s Your Spirit Animal? The Truth Might Surprise You

Facing my fears.

I could only gape at her with my mouth hanging open as I sat there, stunned. I couldn’t help but think there must have been a mistake.

It’s not that I don’t like reptiles, I love all creatures. But I’d never felt a strong affinity for snakes before, let alone considered them kindred spirits or a guiding Messenger.

I had a healthy respect for snakes, born out of several close encounters I’d had where I felt lucky to have escaped unharmed. Because of that snakes have always been a bit scary for me. They’re not warm or fuzzy or cuddly. In fact, they can kill people.

Surely she’d done the exercise wrong?

So I had to ask: “A snake? Really?” Honestly, I felt scared at first.

But, I took a few deep breaths, gathered my courage as best I could, and got ready to face my fears.

I tuned in to meet Snake.

In my vivid imagination and inner mental monitor, she was huge! She lay coiled around a large tree limb, calmly looking down at me.

Easily 200 pounds or more, she was a stunning iridescent green. She greeted me as I looked up at her.

I asked my spirit animal if she had a message for me?

She did. She talked to me about reclaiming my power and shedding toxic energy.

I was suffering in an abusive marriage. I knew exactly what she was talking about.

Then, she taught me about masks and identities. She told me that just like a snake sheds her skin as she grows, I would also drop away that which no longer served me.

She taught me about transmuting poison—changing and growing something that had been toxic into something beautiful.

I was suffering from advanced Lyme Disease at that time, and through Snake’s help, I began to recover.

She taught me so many things that I needed to learn in order to move forward from the period of life I was in and showed me the importance of boundaries, self-respect, and clarity. She also taught me to appreciate and use my own wisdom.

Your Spirit Animal is a Messenger for Clarity, Guidance, and Self Growth Dedicated to Your Highest Good.

Because of her insightful counseling that day I began making changes in my relationships and in my life. I learned how to defend myself better and began standing up for myself more.

It was a life-changing conversation. When I got back home from the workshop I did more research into the meaning of Snake as a Spirit Animal or Totem.

What I found out was so on target, I felt blessed and in awe of the Divine Gift I’d received.

The snake as a spirit animal is powerfully connected to life force and primal energy. In many cultures, the snake is revered as a powerful totem representing the source of life itself.

I found out that when the snake appears in your life, as spirit animal or otherwise, it likely means that healing opportunities, important transitions, and increased energy are manifesting.

Who’s Your Spirit Animal? The Truth Might Surprise You

Snake as a spirit animal is a symbol for healing

As I mentioned above, the snake represents life force. Being a reptile, it is very close to earth energies and is reminiscent of unconscious drives and primal instincts. When the snake appears to you as a spirit animal, pay attention to where you are drawing your energy and how you use it.

If you feel you have an affinity with the snake and think she might be your spirit animal, this could be a signal to be sensitive to your healing abilities, not only for others but for yourself as well.

Focus on cultivating sources of energy and support, especially as they relate to the earth and nature.

Snakes have been revered as symbols of healing powers and opportunities since ancient times. In Greek mythology, Aesclepius, the god of medicine, was depicted with two snakes climbing up a rod. This symbol, called the caduceus, remains today as a common association symbol associated with healing.

Snake as spirit animal—what does that mean for you?

When Snake shows up as your spirit animal, it usually means:

  • An element of healing in your life, either of healing others or being healed;
  • Transformation, life changes;
  • Lifeforce and primal energy is a factor in your life;
  • Spiritual guidance plays a large role in your life.

The snake as a spirit animal can provide guidance about any life changes and transitions in your life, whether they are happening on the physical, emotional, or spiritual level.

You just need to learn how to tune in and listen to the messages.

Tuning in, connecting with the animals and nature around me has been my path for most of my life.  Since I met Snake in 1996, I’ve developed my communication, healing and transformational abilities further and faster and deeper than I could have ever expected.

I feel humbled by that experience, and also in awe of the process of discovery that I have gone through.

How Animal Connection Can Heal Our Own Wounds and Trauma

Animal connection is such a gift and a blessing. But something that many people don’t realize is that animal connection goes so far beyond just playing with, hanging out with them, or even talking to our animals.

If you have a precious animal companion in your life, learning animal connection through animal communication the way it’s taught in The Heart School of Animal Communication can heal you too. Why? Because this is fundamentally a profound spiritual journey that helps you heal, evolve and grow until you become your best self.

The following story about one of my clients really shows how powerful animal connection can be for helping us work through our own traumas and wounds.

Ready to get started? Check out this page to explore the Heart Animal Communication, Problem Solving and Healing consultation options to start on your own healing journey through animal connection.

Dr. Joey’s astonishing story of healing through animal connection.

How Animal Connection Can Heal Our Own Wounds and Trauma

Dr. Joey is a family doctor with a thriving practice in South Padre Island, Texas. He loves his patients and truly loves his work, but his life was turned upside down when tragedy struck his household.

You see, Dr. Joey was single but had four dogs at home who were his best friends in the world and all the family he could ask for. In fact, one of these dogs was so close to Dr. Joey that he swore she was his forever soulmate. It was like they were bonded at the heart and mind, at such a deep level that this kind doctor was convinced that she was his angel on earth.

Tragically, the doctor was devastated when his angel was suddenly taken from him.

His heart was broken.

Animal connection: your animals feel you more than you think.

Dr. Joey’s grief was so intense that his world imploded, becoming a dark, heavy, and very painful place.

He thought, however, that he was keeping his pain inside. In spite of his agony over the loss of his soulmate, he somehow found it within himself to keep going as normal. After all, he had three other dogs to care for and a busy practice of patients who needed him.

But something unexpected happened. His other dogs, who up until now had been a happy, well-adjusted family unit, suddenly became unruly and hard to control. They started fighting amongst themselves; not only that, they became aggressive with other dogs and even people.

They used to love visitors, but now, when a stranger came to the door, they would go into such a frenzy that they would hurl themselves physically against the door so hard the doctor was afraid the glass would break.

And instead of enjoying their walks together like they used to do, his dogs would run him ragged, attacking every little thing and dragging him down the street.

Dr. Joey’s heart broke even further. He couldn’t understand why his dogs were acting this way. No matter what he did, they wouldn’t listen to him and he felt helpless and out of control. Instead of a welcome sanctuary of comfort, rest, and love, his home became a place that he dreaded going to at the end of each day.

The situation was a nightmare…

How Animal Connection Can Heal Our Own Wounds and Trauma

Then, on top of it all, Dr. Joey found out that he had bone marrow cancer. His entire world was thrown off its axis. He sunk into an even deeper depression as he struggled to hold it all together.

One day, a friend of his suggested he contact an animal psychic, a professional animal communicator who could get to the bottom of his dogs’ misbehavior and tell him what was really going on with them. Someone who could help solve his pet problems.

Dr. Joey is a practical person and wasn’t sure what to think about it. Honestly, he wasn’t expecting much. But he was desperate and this specific communicator came highly recommended. He figured, what did he have to lose? He would give it a try.

That’s where I entered the picture.

After just a few sessions of animal communication and BodyTalk for Pets and People Healing (among other therapies), Dr. Joey’s dogs were in much better shape.

Communicating with these suffering dogs revealed the underlying problems they were valiantly trying to figure out how to handle all by themselves.

You see, Dr. Joey had forgotten that his dog soulmate’s death didn’t only affect him. His other dogs, her siblings, were also grieving and trying to grieve with him. They were also perplexed that he wasn’t connecting with them anymore.

They were feeling like he no longer loved them now that the other dog was gone, and they were hurting because of it. Confused, lonely, and sad… they all felt lost and disconnected.

Animal connection can heal both people and pets.

A short time later?

With my help, Dr. Joey’s three dogs were once again well behaved, settled and happy puppies, a joy to be with. They had finally been heard and felt reconnected with their beloved human companion, Dr. Joey.

As for Dr. Joey, he finally started to feel better as he was allowed to find peace and closure from the loss of his forever dog.

He began practicing my simple no-nonsense rules with the dogs. He started talking to them in a way they could understand following my animal talk coaching. And they began communicating very well together like they were in sync. They could read each other’s minds.

The best part of this story, which came shortly after his last session in the form of this wonderful note:

“My bone marrow cancer is gone!”

“Yesterday was the one year anniversary of my forever dog, Satin’s passing. I have successfully moved my clinic this summer. AND my health has received a Miracle! NO more cancer of the bone marrow! My dogs, Duchess, Zoey and Zena are all doing fine. I cannot tell you how much you have changed my life and my dogs, and how I have become alpha once again. Thank You!” – Dr. Joey Laske, South Padre Island, Texas

Wow, right?

What you may not know is that I don’t just work with animals. I’m a highly trained and gifted healer. I am a medical intuitive and advanced PaRama level BodyTalk practitioner, as well as an animal communicator, trainer, and problem solver.

In fact, problem-solving with pets is my specialty. I created the HEART System, a 5 step process for solving problems with pets. It works with every animal, every time.

I’ve intuitively counseled people through career changes, relationships, breakups, and divorce; through major health problems for themselves and/or their animals; and helped them through death, grief, and loss.

Pets often act as messengers to bring their human’s broken and injured heart into a healing space. How do they do that? Through connection, of course.

At the heart of it all, healing people and pets is my specialty.

We need our animals just as much as they need us. In the How to Talk to Animals System, I teach students how to hear their animal’s thoughts, wisdom, and emotions.

Take a moment to consider:

What is the most pressing challenge or concern you have with your life?

What does your pet need help with right now?

If you could experience a huge breakthrough as Dr. Joey did, would you take action?

Perhaps it’s time for you to get the help you need too.

Click here and choose the consulting plan that fits your needs, whether you need communication, problem-solving, healing, or intuitive guidance. I’m here for you and the health and wellness of your pet.

Animals have voices, feelings, wisdom, and Spirits just like we do.

They are messengers.

When things are wrong in their world, they need us to listen to them, to honor and respect them, and to learn from them so we can grow, heal and evolve into our best selves.

Wishing you much love, inspiration, and joy, and enough wonderful memories to cherish for all time.
